GGZ Friesland is entering into cooperation with IT companies Topicus and CODE24. With this cooperation, they want to optimize the claim processing and registration control of their healthcare information system. This should lead to a new 'best of breed' system that is more efficient, works more easily for all employees - and patients will not be affected. A unique collaboration with the goal; less administrative burden for healthcare employees and more time for the patient.

One system

CODE24 and Topicus are creating a single system in which care and administrative staff at GGZ Friesland can work easily. Both companies are providing a component of this complete system: CODE24 already provided the patient record and is now integrating it with a financial module from Topicus. This module helps with invoicing and registration - in part by automating these processes. The integration of CODE24 and Topicus' software creates a single modern portal that optimally supports employees. With this cooperation, GGZ Friesland is one of the forerunners in the world of mental healthcare. It is almost unique to create a single system from two components that should reduce the workload of healthcare professionals.

The right partners

To realize this, GGZ Friesland has been busy in recent years looking for the right partners. There is no all-encompassing package that offers everything, so a collaboration between several parties had to be the solution. Despite the fact that a previous cooperation in a different combination did not lead to the desired result, GGZ Friesland shows courage by taking up the challenge again. GGZ Friesland did not rush into this and used the 'lessons learned' in an extensive 'proof of concept' by the partners to show that the intended goal can be successfully realized.

Topicus hooked up

CODE24 is no stranger to GGZ Friesland. In fact, CODE24 has been providing the digital patient file with links to laboratories and the EVS, among others, for years. The question was more about which party to choose for billing and registration. The eye fell on Topicus; which has been active in the healthcare world for a long time. They have already built up quite a track record over the years in the field of claim processing and registration control. However, the field of integrated mental health-institutions is new to them. Topicus aspires to innovate within healthcare and its vision is to support the mental health domain by means of modern ICT: more efficient, no duplicate operations and as much automation as possible.

Win-win

All this has led to a unique collaboration with only positive principles. The system will be more efficient and the healthcare worker and administrative assistant will have to deal with less "red tape" as a result. That means: more time for the patient. A win-win situation.
