“I work as a developer within the mConsole team. My main focus is developing new features and improving and expanding existing parts of the platform. Together with the team, I also make sure everything remains stable and runs smoothly. It's a great combination of building, improving and maintaining.”
“My day often starts with reviewing each other's work. Within the development team, we review colleagues' code and test each other's changes before anything goes live. After that, I usually spend the rest of the day working on tickets: building new features, fixing bugs or improving existing processes. In between, I sometimes have meetings or brainstorm with colleagues, but most of my day is spent doing what I enjoy most: programming.
As a team, we're also constantly looking for ways to work smarter and more efficiently by making use of new tools and innovations. This allows us to respond more quickly and creates more room for creativity and innovation.”
“The ability to think logically and solve problems is probably the most important skill for me. I actually see my work as one big puzzle. You're constantly figuring out what is going wrong or how something can be designed in a smarter or better way. Working in a structured manner is also essential. As a developer, you need to understand the impact of changes and how everything fits together.”
“What I enjoy most is the complexity of certain challenges. The bigger or more complicated the puzzle, the more interesting I find it.
For example, I spent a lot of time diving deep into our MasterDaemon system. Many challenges and issues come together within that environment, and I really immersed myself in understanding it. As a result, I now know the system inside out and can quickly identify the right solutions.
Those large, complex puzzles are what make the work so rewarding. Sometimes you can spend days without feeling like you're making progress, but when you finally have that breakthrough and everything falls into place, it gives you a huge sense of satisfaction.
I also appreciate that there's plenty of room for innovation at CODE24. During innovation days, for example, you can step away from day-to-day customer requests and focus on creative new ideas. That's when you really see how many exciting and unexpected concepts can emerge.”
“I would like to progress to a senior developer role. That feels like a natural next step for me. I'm also interested in becoming involved in more processes across the organisation, particularly on the product side. I often find myself thinking about new features and product decisions, so it would be great to contribute more to that in the future.”
